3 lbs ground turkey
1 C finely shredded Zuchini
1 C finely Shredded Yellow Squash
½ onion (minced)
6-10 garlic cloves (minced)
1 red bell pepper (diced)
1-2 chilies (diced)
Combine the above ingredients in a large bowl and mix until the all ingredents are equally distributed throughout the ground turkey. Season with one or two table spoons of house spice, and one or two table spoons of lemon pepper and mix until the seasoning is spread throughout the mixture.
Spoon ¼ pound globs of turkey onto a skillet lightly coated with olive oil over medium heat and form into patties as it begins to cook. Once the patties can be easily lifted whole, place them on a tray to be grilled.
On the grill, over a low heat, cook the burgers until they are firm and slightly charred on either side. PLEASE NOTE: since these are poultry, it’s important that they be done all the way through – pink turkey is no bueno. While they still on the grill, if desired, place a slice of cheese over top each pattie to melt the cheese onto the burger.
Once they’re done, serve on a wheat hamburger bun with green leaf lettuce and fresh sliced tomatoes, and whatever condiments you desire.
